Food & Nutrition

The pre-school years are a crucial time for learning good dietary habits that can lay the foundations for the future good health. The Holy Family Creche we prepare a highly nutritious menu from freshly prepared, carefully sourced ingredients.

The service receives funding from the HSE health inequalities fund to ensure that all children who attend receive breakfast; a morning break a hot lunch and afternoon healthy snacks on a daily basis.

All food is prepared to meet the legislative requirements under HACCP and in accordance with the Department of Health food and Nutrition Guidelines for Pre-schools.

Our menu plans take into consideration the likes / dislikes of particular children and multicultural factors are taken into account, with suggestions from parents incorporated into menus.

Children are encouraged to try a wide range of foods, and the opportunity for socialisation is capitalised upon with interactions from staff and other children.
